# Landing page vs website: which one do you need?

Both can bring in customers. The difference is how many questions they have to answer — and how many ways people can find them.

## What a landing page is

One page with one goal: to get the visitor to take one action — leave an enquiry, book, call, buy one product. Everything on the page serves that goal: the offer, the proof, the price, the answers to doubts, and the button. There is no menu leading elsewhere, because elsewhere is a distraction.

## What a website is

Several pages, each answering its own question: what you do, what it costs, who you are, what your work looks like, how to reach you. The visitor chooses their own route. A website can hold many services, a price list, a portfolio, a team and a blog — things that do not fit on one scrolling page without turning it into a wall.

## When a landing page is the right choice

- You sell one service or one product, or run one campaign.
- Visitors come from ads or social media, and you decide where they land.
- You need to launch fast and test whether the offer works at all.
- The budget is tight: one page is cheaper to design, build and keep up to date.

## When you need a website

- You offer several services, and each has its own customers and its own questions.
- People find you through search. Every page of a website can rank for its own query — “lymphatic drainage massage in Batumi” on one page, “facial massage” on another — while a landing page competes for a single group of searches.
- The content keeps growing: a price list that changes, new work for the portfolio, articles.
- Trust matters, and people want to know who they are dealing with before they get in touch.

## How search engines treat the two

A landing page can rank well — for one topic. If it tries to cover ten services, it covers each of them thinly, and a competitor with a dedicated page for each will usually come out ahead. A website gives every service a page, a title and an address of its own. That is why a small business that relies on search tends to outgrow a single page.

## Cost and time

The format sets the size of the job. With us, a turnkey landing page is $55 and takes 5–7 working days. A multi-page site of up to seven pages with a simple admin panel is $75 and takes 10–14 days. In both cases the domain and hosting are paid separately, directly to the provider — roughly $10–15 a year and $3–5 a month.

## You can start with one and grow into the other

A common path: launch a landing page for the main service, see what customers ask, then turn the answers into the pages of a full site. The domain, the design and the sections that work carry over, so nothing is thrown away.

## A quick way to decide

Count the questions a customer needs answered before buying. If they fit on one page without endless scrolling, take a landing page. If each service needs its own explanation, prices and examples, you need a [website](https://redesign-ss.com/services/multipage) — our [work](https://redesign-ss.com/cases) shows what that looks like for a salon, a gym or a therapist.
